    Music curriculum intent:

At St George's Primary School and Pre-School, we aim to  provide a high-quality music curriculum that engages and inspires pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. As pupils progress, they should develop a critical engagement with music, allowing them to compose, and to listen with discrimination to a variety of musical styles.

    Music curriculum implementation:

Our music curriculum is implemented through engaging, practical lessons where pupils sing, perform, compose, and listen to a broad range of genres of music. Learning is carefully sequenced to build musical knowledge and skills over time. Teaching is inclusive, vocabulary‑rich, and supported by enrichment opportunities, and high expectations for all learners.

    Additional Music opportunities:

We also offer a range of individual and small group music tuition.  Currently on offer are piano and violin lessons.  We also have a fantastic choir with ages ranging from Year 1 to Year 6, who always sing at our termly Church services and attend other events in the local community to perform.
